April 21, 2019 – Pastor Barry Clair shares the Easter message “Myths About Jesus & The Resurrection”
One of the most unfortunate characters in the death and resurrection narrative of Jesus is the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate. Here is a man caught in the middle. He is in a Catch-22 place. He’s truly between a rock and a hard place. Here’s a guy who can’t get it right. He’s in a lose-lose situation. It’s his job to
adjudicate in the matter of Jesus of Nazareth versus the Jewish Religious State. And though often portrayed as a bad guy, I truly believe, from my reading of the Gospel accounts, that Pilate was a conscientous leader. I believe Pontius Pilate was really trying to get it right.
